Part of the portraits series. This artwork, like most of my work is inspired by the philosopher Michel Foucault notion of Heterotopia."Spaces of otherness, which are neither here nor there, that are simultaneously physical and mental.”
This piece emphasizes on the idea of being in two states, being here physically and somewhere else mentally. The face disappears to reveal the mind of the subject. As if nowadays, our face had become more a mask rather than a reflection of our true selves.
