Acteon
The young and unfortunate Actaeon, according to The Metamorphoses by Ovid, committed the sin of accidentally seeing the goddess Diana bathing with her nymphs in a clearing in the forest. For the virgin goddess, discovering herself observed by a human was interpreted as an offense akin to a violation, and she transformed him into a stag. This sealed the young man’s terrible fate, as he was devoured by his own hunting dogs.
