Inspiring by the Flemish painters of the 17th century and their works on vanity (Vanitas), “NATURA MORTA / a dance less”, is a choreographic installation for two bodies, which acts as a reminder of time for the inescapable human fate and the perishability of materials. The choreographic score develops in a form of repeatitive movements sometimes as a contemporary ritual and sometimes as an archaic rave, following a progressively increasing escalation of kinetic intensity. The scenic installation, composed by several materials and objects, emphasises the futility of fleeting pleasures and has a kaleidoscopic impact on the choreography. Floating bodies in “exile”, they seem to experience their relationship with nature and the material world for one last time, as a collective guide to their final shelter. In “NATURA MORTA / a dance less", the kinesiological and visual counterpoints between dancers and scenic space, create additively an existential gathering, a “tableau vivant” in which, Every (hu)man is an island, entire of itself.
