My current work is a social commentary aimed at celebrating women with larger bodies. I depict a series of paintings that show details of body creases in an attempt to portray the aesthetic beneath those layers. In my artworks, the roundness of the form ( body creases) is brightly painted to put a strong emphasis on the creases that I embrace as a woman. I loosely appropriate the impasto technique from classical artworks to depict the heavyweight. The significance of large-scale paintings is that I'm attempting to make the work appear larger than life-size to entice the audience to interact and to focus on the area that defines a larger body.
