For 380.000 years after big bang was a period of inflation, forming fundamental forces, quarks, protons/neutrons, and finally light elements Protons and neutrons fused to form light nuclei (Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium) as the universe cooled.
In First glimpse into the early universe from the James Web Space Telescope the astronomers expected to find tiny galactic beginnings, what they found was the opposite, some galaxies appeared to have grown so massive so quickly that simulations couldn't account for them. Some researchers suggested that the standard model of cosmology must be wrong. According to a new study in the Astrophysical Journal, some of those early galaxies are in fact much less massive than they first appeared. Black holes in some of these galaxies make them appear much brighter and bigger than they really are.
