I get inspiration from social media, advertisement, popular culture, film and art history. When
I paint, my conceptions turn into something new, I dedicate my entire
attention to the emerging painting, make decisions about color and
composition and engage in this sensual process: my nose smells fresh
oil color, the rich color palette catches my eye and I feel the
structure of the canvas, the brush handle touches the skin of my
hand.
To
pass-over control to the painting, to walk away step by step from the
initial ideas is important to me: when I paint, I don't illustrate a
certain text, nor do I quote one or the other old master.
I
collect, consume, incorporate, digest, add, imagine and construct.
