"Watermark II! is part of the series “Watermarks,” which reflects on the experience of swimming and immersing oneself in water, drawing on Jacques Cousteau's observation that “underwater, man becomes an archangel.” Water forms a unique space without gravity, where surrender to the liquid medium promotes trust, inner openness, and an increased sense of freedom and connectedness. The body enters a process of transformation and becomes a surface on which the lake metaphorically inscribes itself: The water has been inside me. The series describes the interdependence between human presence and the natural element.
