Walking into the light depicts a women coming out of stromy seas symbolising difficult traumatic times and the current devided state of the world. She is walking out from the eye of the storm into a calming soothing bright light whist a large wave almost engulfs her. The light symbolises our interconnectness with each other, our souls compassionate healing power. Love and compassion is the best antidote to war and inner trauma.
Despite all this conflict on the earth we all want love, to feel calm and safe. The journey of central figure shows reaching this calm comoassionate connected state reached.
Done in many layers with many techniqes. I first has to build up lots of depth with layers of sandt gesso then watery acrylics for the waves which also incorporated flowart elements to tge waves. Rest was done in thick oils for more depth and luminance. It is an older piece but demostrates my varied style and techniques very well.
