In this work, the Welsh landscape unfolds as a layered memory image. The artist began with spontaneous plein-air sketches, later refined in the studio, creating a balance between direct impression and considered elaboration. Transparent layers of paint build an atmosphere that feels both mystical and fleeting – a landscape that resists being captured, continually reshaping itself.

The suggestive visual language invites the viewer into interpretation: each gaze reveals a different perspective, a different mood, a different state of mind. The work thus transcends topography and touches on an inner experience of landscape, where freedom and imagination take center stage. Wales Countryside is not a registration of a place, but an invitation to partake in an experience that remains in constant motion.
