This artwork was born from a reflection on the change in relationships between people during the current period characterized by the Covid-19 pandemic. Especially my attention turns to couples who live far away or are unable to physically meet due to new world or local arrangements. So I decided to make a dedication to all those who feel separated from their loved ones by imagining a symbolic journey in which we send ourselves, in our complete nakedness and inside a suitcase, to the destination we most care about: the other. The desire is to soon embrace the people most dear to us and symbolically the whole world; the more hidden meaning is instead aimed at the hope that this critical global health situation will come to an end as soon as possible without a return ticket. From a technical point of view, I tried to express, through a play of light and clear shadows, a sort of flow that starts from the left, with the darkness, and projects towards the right without limits where the light is overwhelming. The girl is melancholy but in the gesture of getting into the suitcase there is all the inner strength that will serve to overcome the distances currently present; the bond with the other is symbolized by the faith on the left ring finger, the only element that is worn on the body.
