The work is on paper with acrylic and colored pencil. Whether woman or man, it is the same existential questions, longings and hopes that we carry around with us and that determine our lives. No matter what inclinations, addictions, provisions we carry in us, we want to live self-determined and this with the same opportunities everywhere.
In my work, I am touched by the faces that are still open, that ask questions, that have not settled into the seemingly comfortable uniformity of our lives. Who still feel intensely that and how changes happen in the world, who remain touched, also for the suffering that happens in the world every day, what happens to their fellow human beings and that remains readable without shame in their face, in their look, who remain more touched, more human.
To feel the ground, always under the feet, does not let me float in a bubble above all. I want to bring both into the faces. The abandonment/loneliness/longing/rage/injuries of the soul, its questions to us. To be loud without being loud.
Looks shall scream.
Looks that have seen everything, I want to paint.
