“Turmoil” was inspired by the experiences of families forced to flee the war in Ukraine. Created through an intuitive painting process, the work captures the emotional chaos of displacement, where fear, uncertainty and hope exist at the same time. The intertwined figures express the instinct to protect one another while moving through an unfamiliar world. Rather than depicting a specific event, the painting reflects the universal human experience of loss, resilience and the search for safety.
