The name of the series "Brownian Microcosm" is inspired by the research of Robert Brown. This biologist succeeded in modeling the chaotic movement of pollen grains on water. In 1804, this model was given the name "Brownian Movement".
Each work is a leap into the void.
My perpetual chromatic experimentations have allowed me to reach new emotions. In an absolute abstraction, each painting is the visual and tactile representation of a breath of sensations. The colored fragments fly away, swirl in this emotional storm to finally freeze slowly on a surface that becomes infinite, timeless and free.
Tropic: facing the infinite.
For this candidate work, I developed an exclusive support, inspired by a surfboard production method. It is a mixture of polyurethane foam and polyester resin and epoxy resin. This daring support brings a new dimension to this series: a suspended, rounded, more watery piece that erases the contours of a canvas, around which one can turn and be transported by the depths of its technique. The finish of four layers of epoxy resin brings a smooth aspect, which is meant to recall a flat and peaceful aqueous surface on which R. Brown studied his Brownian movement.
