My working method revolves around changing the past using traditional motifs, symbols and patterns. I begin researching historical artifacts, focusing particularly on the intricate details of Seljuk art and pre-Islamic Proto-Turkish motifs. These elements enable periodic processes to occur.
Using oil paint in the first medium, I layer symbolic inscriptions and decorative patterns, presented geometrically on the canvas, blending vibrant colors with soft tones to evoke different sounds. The structure of each piece is constructed and traditional elements are balanced with a contemporary perspective. Their work is pieced together, allowing the motifs to guide me, and I experiment with texture and color.
In this process, I aim to reinterpret cultural change by creating a modern narrative that invites viewers to explore the symbolism and beauty of the past. My method is a constant dialogue between research, imagination and artistic expression, allowing to achieve history and modernity through seamlessly combining productions.
