The starting point for the creation of this work was the feeling of human history not as an exponential ascending development and progress, but as a sinusoidal curve, at the peaks of which are the flourishes of intellectual, moral and technical thought, and in the pits there is oblivion and darkness of caves. Arguing about prehistoric times, I am based not on scientific historical sources, but on myths and legends, which, in addition to the generally accepted allegorical perception, can also be considered quite literally, as chronicles that have come down to us in a somewhat distorted and damaged form. In any case, I did not set the task of depicting a specific episode, but rather to express the feeling that was formed as a result of immersion in the array of mythology of different peoples of the world.
The work from the "Youth of the World" series. It'the series of paintings about the archaism of the humanity, about the fact that modernity and progress are a thin film from under which chthonic things are hidden, which are not subject to change, and the superstructure in the form of civilization above them is rather fragile. which is especially acute at the present moment of crisis. The main task of this works can be formulated as the creation of objects that are visually out of time, as exhibits of human history after the end of history. This dictates their performance, the stylistics referring to archaic art, to a fresco can be at the same time to modernist art.
