The Hollyhocks symbolize tenderness, care and close relationships. In first painting titled "The Tenderness of The Hollyhocks" I wanted to find a subtle form for expressiveness of tender. That's why flowers are like a silk and wrapped in warm, all-encompassing greenery. The second part titled "The Hollyhocks in The Pouring Rain" is about primary oppositions. It is enough for a heavy rain to fall, and the hollyhocks face danger, although water is necessary for them to live...This is one of paradoxes of nature. Safe is combined with danger; care with neglect; tenderness with coldness; love with hate; acceptance with rejection; health with illness; life with death, etc. You may see hollyhocks as human in danger from pouring rain, but human can be also as a pouring rain destroying flowers and other parts of nature. This painting was stationary exhibited at LuminNoir Art Gallery in London (22-31.VII.2025). Each painting size is 50x70cm.
