In this piece, I aimed to convey the feeling of how we sometimes trap ourselves with choices that seem protective or like self-care. The pain of being confined by these decisions is a key part of the work. I wanted viewers to feel a sense of warmth and comfort, like a hug, when they first see it. But as they look closer, the tension in the hands and the caged composition become clear, revealing the underlying struggle. Through this contrast, I hope to capture the mix of comfort and confinement that we often experience.
