Tall Tales in a general sense, for me, is about our capacity to discount obvious dangers while engaging in frivolous or even destructive activities. I often tend to present the images in these Paintings as little vignettes, kind of like the parables or allegories in many of Breughel’s works, in a way you can look at each of the groups of figures in this as different examples for the same thing.
