“Sotto il velo” is an intimate exploration of hidden emotion and silent strength. The portrayed face, composed of textured, vibrant brushstrokes, emerges from a silvery-grey background that resembles an enveloping fabric. Closed eyes, sealed lips, and a single tear create a deeply human—almost sacred—moment. The veil surrounding the face is more than a physical object: it becomes a symbol of protection, culture, vulnerability, and mystery. The work encourages introspection: what is visible is only the surface. Beneath the veil lie stories, pain, thoughts, and dreams.
