"Shadows in the Armchair"
They travel the world, remaining unseen by most.
The black and white within them is not a reflection of their nature.
Black and white exist only to maintain balance.
And more often than not,
we’ll see nothing but a cat in the armchair...
"Drawing from a Blot"
The idea was born during creative sessions with children. The task was to develop imagination by finding different images and interpretations within the same shape given to everyone. This approach encourages creativity, as well as a more subtle perception of ordinary, familiar forms. It became clear that we either see echoes of one common idea or confidently interpret what we see in our own way unconventionally, originally, and very individually.
Since childhood, I've remembered the unexpected images, silhouettes, and stories I noticed in carelessly tossed scraps of fabric, in the dancing shadows of tree branches, in the shapes of clouds, or in the flowing patterns of wood grain...
When the pandemic began, I finally had time to play with silhouettes and the images they evoked myself. I would take a brush, spontaneously place an ink blot on paper, and watch where my imagination would take me. Nothing complicated just an engaging game in which emotions trapped in space would come alive, storylines would emerge from the subconscious, and some of them even gave me answers to my own questions.
