Nature of Time: Change of Seasons

Time connects to one of the themes in my recent artwork: the transformation, flow, and unpredictability of nature. The starting point for my pieces depicting the seasons in this exhibition is the painting series Four Seasons by American artist Cy Twombly (1928–2011) – a classic and intriguing subject. However, as climate change blurs the boundaries between the seasons, we might ask when ”spring” truly turns into ”summer” or ”autumn” into ”winter.” Since my works emerge through a process that, year by year, takes more time, moving in the space between intent and unpredictability, time itself has become a crucial element in my creative practice.

This painting in the series "Nature of Time" depicts the transition from one season to another and the uncertainty of which season it is due to climate change.
