My paintings condense lived
experiences, emotions, and memories that suggest more than they explain. Women
in various emotional states and situations are central to my work – with a
particular emphasis on anger, an emotion women are often taught to suppress
from an early age. In my work, anger is given space: as a reaction to social
pressure, as a legitimate force of womanhood – quiet or assertive.
My figures move between staged
presentation and inner reality. They ask what it means to be visible today –
and reveal what often remains hidden.

The colors are bold and play with strong contrasts. The format was important to
me as well – the painting extends deliberately in width. The viewer can create
their own story behind the figure.
