This work explores the body as a vessel of memory, vulnerability, and transformation. Created through the layering of thread and paint, the figure exists in a state of emergence and fragmentation, revealing an interior landscape rather than a literal representation of the human form.
The exposed red thread functions as both structure and metaphor, evoking bloodlines, emotional wounds, connection, and resilience. Areas of stitching reveal what lies beneath the surface, while painted passages obscure and conceal, creating a tension between revelation and disappearance. The body becomes a site where personal history, loss, and healing coexist.
The labor-intensive process of stitching serves as an act of reconstruction. Each thread records a gesture of repair while simultaneously acknowledging fracture and impermanence.
