My latest works, and this one that I propose to the prize, are all titled with the letter Q followed by a number: Q is for quarantine and the number is for the days spent working for those art pieces during my confinement. I made those pieces starting from the month of February 2020.
Through my work and my daily actions I try to grasp and create a mapping of what surrounds me.
The first level of my mapping is a visual notes (sketches and digital photographs) that sometimes I revisit even
after much time has gone by.
I love cities and urban contest those where I live regularly and those I went through for a short time; I like the
architectural details, I catch what is not normally recorded which would be lost like the ordinary elements.
I mix the different values of system.
The second level of the mapping consists in treating the photographs as paintings: I break them down, simplify,
decontextualize and at the end of process even colors take on new frequencies.
