With "Proud" wanted to show another facet of the black woman. A strong woman, standing tall with her chin up.
She is naked, she has lost her inhibitions, she is not ashamed of her body. She stands tall and proud despite the hardships she goes through as a black woman. She is surrounded by colors (the Macaw and her headdress) that we find in nature because she feels in symbiosis with it.
