How do you connect a viewer with Modern art and Neoclassical art period?
The hues of the novel Paul et Virginie (by Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre, published in 1788) are directly proportional to the feelings evoked in the literature. I tried to achieve a mixed feeling of love, compassion, romance and desperation in that piece.
The brushes strokes are spontaneous and almost intuitively composed to achieve those feelings into one image.
