This painting depicts how personal identity can intertwine with national identity, becoming a blend of some elements that typically represent a country’s culture but, in this instance, convey one's personal identity. The window at the top symbolises access to the gateway of the soul, suggesting that it not only provides different perspectives but also reveals what lies beyond one’s immediate surroundings. Using the canvas to create the window reflects how the artist sees art as a structure of escape into the inner self. The figure is a combination of the infamous painting, "Girl With a Pearl Earring" and the logo from Harina PAN and popular brand of corn flour in Venezuela.
