Nirvana is a Sanskrit word that refers to a state in which the light is extinguished, to a state of relaxation in which suffering ceases and one attains enlightenment. I envisioned this serene and peaceful yet very vivid experience in the “Sea of Light” series.
The way everything oscillates and flows with light is the image of infinite universes without boundaries or obstacles and filled with energy. A variety of music served as inspiration for the series. This painting expresses the feeling of fullness, ecstasy and overflowing with gratitude for the own existence caused by the song “I have enough” from Bach's cantata.
