At the height of my deepest grief, following the loss of my mother, I returned to the timeless love story of Layla and Majnun by Nizami Ganjavi and reimagined it in a personal form. In this work, by integrating Eastern elements within a Western architectural space, I sought to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries and present love as a universal emotion belonging to all humanity.
The fusion of grand Western architecture with the warm, vibrant hues of the East reflects poetry, passion, and life itself—colors that, like Nizami’s verses, stir the emotions and invite viewers to explore a story beyond time and place. Inspired by the rich tradition of Persian miniature painting and attentive to the perspective and lighting of classical Western architecture, I have created an image that delights the eye while engaging the mind in contemplating universal love.
Through this work, I aim to build a bridge between cultures, arts, and human emotions—a bridge that honors Eastern literary heritage while allowing contemporary Western audiences to experience the intensity and poetry of love.
