The work is one of the author's last works and depicts an erotic scene involving several people. Here, the recurring erotic theme in the author's works is made particularly explicit. The painting depicts the innermost instincts and transcends the constraints imposed by society, The use of color is predominant in the scene, as in most of the author's works, specifically the juxtaposition of yellow and red in large areas characterizes at least three works from the same period that explore the instincts of sexuality. As one of the last works, this work brings together elements from previous ones and founds different aspects of sexuality. An orgy can easily be an allegory of society, a window into its roles and relationships among its constituents, swirling sensual free yet tending to find the balance between the pleasure of individuals and that of the community. Additionally, we find spectators of society, those fascinated by the figures who let themselves go, but chained to their paradigms, slaves to their conventions and rules. The artist's intention was to push society to place love, pleasure, and freedom at the center of its discussions and consider them as the measure of its own interests.
