The idea
of the artwork was born in the pandemic period with the resulting lockdowns,
the inability to see each other, to embrace. Not even after that emergency, now
the problematic international situation, fear of what may happen and for the future, are
the context of the artwork.
An
intense, spontaneous, natural gesture. Finally emotions can take the center of
the scene. But the last pandemic years, the grayness of the present, anxiety
about the future, make concrete the fear that the embrace is unrepeatable, and fix
it in the present moment, magnifying it. One of the two protagonists is happy,
the other appears somber, feeling the full weight of the situation around them,
but in the center emotions explode, heedless of the context.
A veil of sadness, however, permeates the
scene...
