On our trip through Tanzania, we met this lively weaver in Stone Town, Zanzibar. He inherited weaving from his ancestors, as well as the loom. In his small workshop, he weaves fabrics from cotton for scarves and shirts.
For the picture "Kusuka" I used linen, acrylic paint, an old loom and cotton yarn.
I find it fascinating to see this traditional craft and to feel the fabrics. Out of enthusiasm and appreciation, I had to paint this picture.
