The canvas is the score of the second generation daughter Kaki plant, which
is located in the S. Giulia Museum in Brescia.
I recorded the electromagnetic vibrations produced by leaves and roots,
which in turn are translated into notes by means of a converter, but what
interests me is that it is the man who performs the piece, so I asked the
composer Claudio Binetti to convert the recording into score, which in turn was
interpreted with the vibraphone by Stefania Maratti.
In practice, the composer is the Kaki (plant) and the performer is the man.
I connected the QRCode
to the canvas (see bottom right of the picture) which allows you to listen to
the song lasting 4:50 min. (I recommend the use of earphones or headphones).
The musical score of the daughter Kaki is reinterpreted through an image by
the photographer Doriano Pellegrini.
My work is about a connection between two senses (sight and hearing), we
can call it phonosphere or as Hitchcock would say:
"The MacGuffin is the narrative device that provides the dynamic push to
the plot".
