This portrait is dedicated to my friend Bruno, whom I met in Salvador. We chose this dark spot at my home, where the contrast between light and dark is greatest. Like many Brazilians, Bruno is very devout and, despite all the difficulties and obstacles, never loses hope for a brighter future. At first, I hadn’t thought of this thematic connection in the form of a minimalist composition. It only became clear to me during the intensive work involving many sessions. A bracelet he was wearing one day inspired the title.
