This work explores ideas surrounding perception, judgment, false identity, and the ways people often misunderstand or categorize one another based on assumptions that are rarely accurate. Much of the work deals with what is hidden beneath the surface—the first impression and what lies beyond it. You think you know what you are looking at but it is only your vision which brings another dimension to the work. The title of the work is your perception not mine. Your view of the work is yours not mine.
This painting is made by applying layers of oil paint applied to birch wood panel. It is comprised of two panels fitted together.
