A magnified look into the relationship between
two of the most common elements used in our everyday lives: wood and stone. A
comparison between the two reveals the warmth of wood, its soft brown tones
conveying a sense of pliability that suggests that the life found within will
always find a way out into the open; while the rock imitates a stone found in
nature – cold, distant, and majestic. By placing both elements next to each
other, I attempt to show a duality between the two – how they are undeniably
different, but invariably rely on one another to show the unique beauty in
each. I used recycled material such as fabric or twine to breathe a second life into it.
