Starting from reflections on the critical situation in which our planet finds itself, also due to catastrophic events linked to human actions that have left a profound mark, I have tried to represent the impulse that leads life to resurface, finding its own strength. The series of drawings focuses on nature's ability to rediscover the drive to flourish again, despite the extreme difficulty posed by the surrounding conditions, the resilience that in ecology and biology is the ability of a material to self-repair after damage or of a community (or ecological system) to return to its initial state after being subjected to a disturbance that has taken it away from that state. But what will be the impassable limit beyond which this will no longer be possible? I chose to use fragments of ancient statues as the 'ground' from which flowers emerge, symbolizing the memory and remnants of a bygone time, a memory of what we have been, and a symbol of the beauty we are capable of producing from which further beauty can be born, in contrast to the many mistakes made by humanity.
