The purpose of this painting is to highlight the immediacy and overexposure of our current society (where the exposure of private life on virtual networks has turned into work, money, and fame) in contrast with the time of artistic painting, a slow time, where the work is created for posterity, far from the instant nature of stories and virtual posts.
From this duality that I experience both as a painter and as a person living today, I created this work by exposing my personal life: a heartbreak with a boy who no longer wanted to see me after a night spent together. I transformed into painting my feelings upon realizing that he would not come back to see me again.
This painting expresses the frustration of a broken heart, merging the immediacy and overexposure of my sentimental life and turning it into something lasting through painting.
