Homo Cardis is the third painting I present to you, esteemed jury, from my ongoing series exploring various manifestations of Homo sapiens.
In this case, we see a portrait of a fossilized human archetype: Homo Cardis — a human who is guided not by intellect, but by the heart. An emotional, deeply empathetic being — in every sense, a Human with a capital H.
This painting is dedicated to a close friend of mine.
To depict this character, I chose a matte black acrylic that absorbs all light, contrasted with a sky-blue background. Through this, I illustrate the human nervous system — the thread connecting both sensory perception and the very center of decision-making.
Perhaps there’s some irony here: a person who lives and chooses through the heart is portrayed as Homo Cardis, echoing Homo Erectus and other extinct primitive humans — a quiet suggestion that fewer and fewer people today choose the sincere, heartfelt path over the material, calculated, and prosaic one
