A crumbling wall within a room
of a house; preserved upon it are fragments of wallpaper and an old electrical
outlet panel with a cable still plugged in. Beneath each socket, in designated
spaces meant to indicate the “locality” linked to the cable’s connection, one
can read:
“The dampness of the lake” / “My darling’s gaze”, “Laughter of old
friends” / “Awaited tomorrows” / “Dreamed eternity”.
This piece offers a poetic
reflection on the world and time. With quiet humor, it highlights our
omnipotent desire to grasp time, preserve memory, foresee the future, and
remain connected—at will—to what we have lived and what we long to live, ever
driven by a latent fear of losing what we hold, who we are, and the vast
unknown ahead. The work subtly reimagines our contemporary impulse to record
and retain everything through increasingly sophisticated technological means.
