I do not have a theme; I do not pursue research to save someone or something. There are no themes, just events - be they trivial, personal or familiar. National and international events. All of them accompanied by images, and some of them, for reasons unknown to me, escape rhetoric, pornographic monovalence. They flow fast. These images stimulate me - they push me to use them. It is an instinctive choice. Landing on the surface of the canvas, merging, combining or altering the chosen pictures, stolen for an improper use. The naïve attempt to highlight aspects that I seem to see – sometimes ironic, sometimes caustic, sometimes irreverent. Images that, perhaps by chance, escape the grid of the unquestionable, gratifying deal. The ancient gesture of painting transfers these images – and the related events – to an alternate dimension – non-contingent; and this seems to me the best way to show that background noise – that vibration you cannot define nor classify. No longer an event, but neither a theme.
