« Ce n’est rien de mourir ; c’est affreux de ne pas vivre"
« It is nothing to die; It's terrible not to live."
Victor Hugo “Les Miserables” 1862
I made the drawing « Gisant négatif » to resonate with the previous one.
The negative of the photo can appear as an inversion of the positivity of the photograph.
At the same time, this negative appears very luminous compared to the positive and thereby brings a new inversion and a new ambiguity between the connotation of the word "negative" and its visual aspect which would bear witness to a form of life, of aura. or soul (“anima” (Latin): soul, immaterial force which gives life surrounding the deceased, or “anemos” (Greek): breath, wind).
