The interest in this topic arose after a visit to the island of Fuerteventura. The island is 100 km from the African coast and its dunes are part of the Sahara Desert. The vast open spaces where sky, earth and ocean merge are breathtaking. You would think the land was like this before the advent of man. The only things that catch the eye are the stones arranged symmetrically along the road. They indicate direction and are an accent in the landscape.
The occasional buildings are striking in their decoration. People living in such harsh conditions try to decorate their lives and homes with a garden of stones, colourful ceramics or unusual plants, which are able to survive in such an environment. This confirms the human desire to create beauty in the middle of the desert, blending harmoniously into the surrounding landscape.
The garden, as an artistic image, is a metaphor for life, its birth, development and extinction. Through the image of the garden, I want to reflect the sensual and object world to show man's creative beginnings.
