Free will
In November 2020 the canvas "free will" emerges.
It draws from my readings my feelings, the news. Of all my works, this canvas is the first that reads like an archive that would have recorded and
transcribes my concerns, my hope for the future generations : what are the choices I make ? what are the impacts around me ?
Between graphite and oil , I explore the line of the pencil, or the oil color. the border remains blurred .....
The white of the gesso, blank of all memory allows me to go back and forth between my inner universe and my environment.
Far from being reduced to a single reading, Free will, offers a cross look between a hidden homage to Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the first female painter and artemisia plants, against malaria.it's about nature of a women, the force of plants, force of life and death . even if everything dies, we have the power of choice. this is our freedom take it or no.
I let this synthetic image of my memory, knowing that life is made of suffering to transmute in hope and joy.
