Throughout the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries the term "reification" has had a notorious fortune and has gained numerous developments and inflections. Of course, its use is not only limited to the critique of political economy, but also circumscribes the analysis of intimate life. This dictatorship of reification in so-called liberal societies produces an ethos where metaphorical material becomes the currency of survival. The world sinks into the dictatorship of the comfortable, the liquidity of the individual. Revolutions are erratic and filtered by the discourses of power, and ideological confusion is the pasture. It is a redefinition of reality where the symbolic takes over to make reality a theme park of discontent.
My work is a kind of "atmospheric" state of painting as an artistic fact. I don't know, a kind of abstraction of language itself. Literature has been an inevitable reference and always will be in my life. And more than anything in my symbolic conscience about it, which is ultimately where the artistic fact is. I do not want to slip journalistic references or romantic paternalisms. It is about creating a discreet balance without avoiding the risk of misinterpretation. This also interests me as a contingency.
It is clear that today cultural fluids reach almost every corner of the planet. The so-called Western mass culture floods almost every definition of everyday life. I tend to compare it to a kind of representation of reality in terms of video game graphics. Where for some reason the programmer stops programming certain sectors that are not of interest for the development of the "game", of the "real". I believe that in those sectors where it is not yet codified by the institutions happens what could be called the true essence of the spiritual existence of the human being that would give rise to a future counter-revolution. I like to believe that I move in those empty spaces of content.
