Echo Body is rooted in a return to childhood memories. The two intertwined figures reflect the blurred boundary between the “other” and the “self,” echoing psychological experiences of identity erosion and dislocation. Using layered, flowing, and obscured brushstrokes, I reconstruct memory and allow painting to serve as a site for emotional inscription. The fluid pigments and unfinished forms mirror the fragmentation of memory and the residue of emotion. Rather than depict specific scenes, the work allows emotion itself to take form through the materiality of paint. Echo Body becomes a presence built from emotional aftershocks—a resonance that continues to echo deep within memory, dealing with identity, pain, and the process of becoming.
