The work responds to the unique and ambiguous landscapes
that exist between the realms of reality and the virtual in contemporary
society. By layering paint and using 'stripes' to delineate spaces and borders
within the canvas, it constructs a grid of intersecting vertical and horizontal
lines, creating a parallel world of squares and boundaries between planes.
These crisscrossing lines form an integrated composition of grids, where
symmetrical structures achieve a visual balance and equilibrium, evoking a
sense of infinite repetition and endless extension.
The aesthetic of these works is derived from linear
order and spatial segmentation, using precise arrangements and proportions to
create a harmonious visual effect. The use of white paint as the primary medium
allows viewers, upon close inspection, to observe the thickness of paint
layers, with a tactile 'relief' effect at the intersections of vertical and
horizontal lines. From a distance, however, the entire composition appears as a
pure white expanse, giving the illusion of a 'completely blank canvas' or an
'unfinished' piece, creating a visual perception of a flat, untextured surface.
By integrating these pieces into the exhibition
space, they merge with their surroundings, becoming part of the space itself or
emerging as protruding objects, thereby blurring the boundaries of the
artwork's identity. The works echo the proportions of the external environment,
contributing to a dialogue between art and space. This visual "order"
and aesthetic not only reflect the omnipresent sense of proportion and
cultivated taste in everyday life but also reveal how modern individuals,
surrounded by technology, redefine and pursue beauty. Although technology
provides the illusion of freedom and customization, this freedom remains a
façade, as people continue to be confined within invisible frameworks dictated
by algorithms, programming, and grid systems that determine our range of
activities.
These unseen yet perceptible rules shape the visual
order of our daily lives, blurring the boundaries between reality and the
virtual, thus creating a harmonious and balanced multidimensional landscape.
