What has been thought cannot be taken back (Friedrich Dürrenmatt)
Crown of Creation
depicts humanity caught between knowledge, hubris, and downfall. An axe across
the face symbolizes violence, while the moustache recalls both Chaplin and
Hitler – comedy and terror, levity and horror. The supposed “crown” thus turns
ironic: humanity is imprisoned by its own ideas.
