Convolution explores the intimate struggle of two souls trying to merge the ultimate effort to fill the inner void. The figures twist into one another, forming a seamless curve, a near-infinity of connection. And yet, even in this closest embrace, a sliver of emptiness remains — a quiet, void space.
This painting is humbly trying to ask the deepest question about that haunting truth: that even with the one we love the most, a part of us remains unreachable, unspeakable. Convolution is not just about love, but about the beautiful and tragic reality of incompleteness ; that some parts of the self echo silently, forever unmet. This painting was born from the failure of another painting "The harbour", showing the restless fast strokes of the brushes capturing the suffocation of me unable to communicate to my partner.
