Cipressi a San Quirico (decomposizione)
olio su tela
92x52cm
2021

The work “Cypresses in San Quirico (decomposition)”, part of the Decompose series, is a classic poetic work that is both futuristic and abstract.
The subject of the Tuscan landscape is part of the second cycle of the Decompose series, a series of natural views, villages and ancient Etruscan cities that are part of the places of the artist's heart and childhood.
Decompose
The “Decompose” project is a path of figurative evolution, a process of decomposing the image into polygons. The image re-shaped in a new code generates a double vision based on the point of view from which the work is viewed. If from a close point the evolved, current "new image" is born, from the other it is perceived as much more distant, its matrix of historical origin. In this temporal movement a game of unexpected visions is created.
The act of decomposing, destroying and creating a new code pushed me to identify with a new "divine creation".
The Decompose project, in tune with the era we live in, confesses to us the essence of current culture: virtual, three-dimensional, but also superficial, minimal and no longer attentive to details. The details, superfluous to understanding, leave room for the real condition of life where it is necessary to know and have everything in the shortest time and with little information.
The final intention is to generate a work that is modern and ancient at the same time and to perceive the passage of time based on the point of view from which it is observed.
A further contrast is given by the modern and technological language which blends well with the classic use of oil painting on canvas.
One of the personal theses linked to "Decompose" is that if the daily destruction we experience, the large ones like wars, like the small internal ones of our daily lives, do not definitively destroy us then they give us strength to re-create a new image, a new me.
